Jeff Noon (born within 1957 in Droylsden, England) is a novelist, short story writer and playwright whose works make extensive apply of wordplay and fantasy. Although periodically associated using a science fiction genre, Noon's books actually have stronger ties by having a works of such literary numbers when Lewis Carroll and Jorge Luis Borges. Before his recent relocation (in a month 2000) to Brighton, Noon set virtually all of his stories inside a few version of his native city of Manchester.

Vurt (1993)

Vurt tells a story of Scribble & his "gang" a Stash Riders when it research for his missing sister Desdemona. Vurt refers to the drug/shared replacement reality that is accessed by suctiin on color-coded feathers. Across a bit of (never explained) mechanism, a dreams, mythology, & imaginings of humanity acheived objective reality in the Vurt & became "real".

Pollen (1995)

Pollen is the sequel to Vurt & concerns a on-going struggle between a real life & the Vurt globe.

Nymphomation (1997)

Nymphomation is the prequel to Vurt. Nymphomation primarily tells a story of a lottery inside Manchester involving dominos & a class action attempting to crack the secrets of that lottery, however it too sets the background for very much of the mythology witnessed in the former ii books.

Automated Alice (1996)

Noon describes Automated Alice as a "trequel" - these are the companion piece of sorts to the far-famed Lewis Carroll books, ''Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass''. A novelette follows Alice's journeying to the new Manchester populated by Newmonians, Civil Serpents & the vanishing cat known as Quark.
